Scholarship

Fred was born in Berea, Kentucky.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky in 1976, and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1976 assigned to the Aeronautical Systems Division (ASD), Wright-Patterson AFB.  Fred entered Federal Civil Service in September 1980 as a Financial Manager, Propulsion Systems Program Office, ASD.  Following additional assignments in ASD, he was promoted to Deputy Comptroller, 2750th Air Base Wing in August 1984.  In November 1986, Fred was named Deputy Director of Cost, Air Force Logistics Command.  Fred was named one of the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1985 and received numerous performance awards during his career.  He was married to Susan Augsburg.

Susan was born in Dayton, Ohio and graduated from Belmont High School in 1973.  She entered the Federal Civil Service in September 1973 as a clerk/stenographer in the Directorate of Programs and Budget, ASD.  In March of 1985, she was reassigned and promoted to the Comptroller's Training Assistant.  She received numerous performance awards during her career.
